As one of the top balloon fashion designers in the industry, Ed was invited as a judge and a showcase artist along with fellow artist Rie Hosokai (Japan). Ed's work on the Hanakeshiki Exhibit is featured in the Japan Chiba City newspaper. The Hanakeshiki exhibit was created to attract attention to the plight of handicapped citizens of Japan. The Hanakeshiki group is a non-profit organization with a mission to help handicapped citizens gain self-esteem and become productive through organized projects with tangible results.

Ed's work at the Balloon Manor Exhibit made the front cover of the local newspaper. Balloon Manor was an exhibit created in Rochester, New York to raise funds for the JP Wilmot Cancer Center. The project was lead by artist Larry Moss and was his way of giving back to the cancer center for the care provided to his wife. The project required 13 lead artists (of which Ed was one), 52 supporting artists, and approximately 350 volunteers. Approximately 150,000 balloons was used to create the exhibit, which took 9 days to construct. The haunted manor consisted of 10 rooms; Ed was the lead designer for the library. Visitors purchased tickets for a 45 minute guided tour. The exhibit remained up for approximately 10 days.
